5 Reasons to Elope- in 2021

The never ending checklists, cake tastings, stressing about seating charts, and let’s not forget.. the money!! Wedding planning can be incredibly overwhelming; which is a shame since it’s supposed to be the greatest day of your life.

Most couples want to have a wedding day that reflects their relationship. If you want to elope, chances are you’re a little different, unconventional, and adventurous! Here are just 5 of the reasons to elope:

1.You want something different.

While planning an elopement might feel like an uncharted territory, it’s actually pretty easy! There are no limits here :) All you have to decide on is: the location, the vows, and what to wear. Yep, that simple. From there, you can customize your elopement as much as you’d like. Elopements are perfect for couples who value a new experience over a big wedding.

Think about it- mountain top in the Swiss alps? Private beach on the Oregon coast? It’s far from traditional which is why it’s so special!

2. You want to save money.

Perhaps the biggest sigh of relief when it comes to eloping. Did you know the average price of a wedding in 2018 was $33,931. Yeah. Let that sink in for a second. No matter where you choose to have an elopement - whether in Australia or Montana, you are guaranteed to save TONS of money. This day is about you and your partner, so there’s freedom to what whatever you want in a way that’s authentic to who you are.

3. You don’t want the wedding day drama.

Friends and family are the most important people in the world. But let’s face it, we all know that it can get stressful very quickly. All of the unsolicited advice, the strong opinions, the tensions between certain relatives, the seating charts, and so on. Or maybe you’re worried about not being able to invite everyone you want to and don’t want anyone to feel left out. If that’s you, I promise you’re not selfish. This day is about YOU.

4. You aren’t a planner.

There’s a reason people hire wedding planners; it’s hard! Keeping up with vendors, timelines, budgets, it gets to be so overwhelming right away. Planning a huge event can even cause unnecessary arguments between couples. If planning is not your forte, don’t do it! There is no rulebook that says you have to plan some extravagant wedding with every single person in your life. Instead, focus on what you love: finding the location of your dreams, writing meaningful vows, and spending time with loved ones.

5. You want to explore something new.

If you’re here, I’m willing to bet that just about any location in the world sounds more appealing than the local country club. Think about what represents you as a couple; what do you love to do together as a couple? Incorporate that into your wedding day and then turn it into an extended honeymoon. Your experience, photos, and videos are guaranteed to be different from everyone else!
